Join us for extended evening hours this holiday season at the U.S. Botanic Garden! On these seven evenings, the Conservatory will stay open until 8 p.m. for visitors to enjoy live music while exploring “Season’s Greenings: Dino-Mite!“ From 5-8 p.m., enjoy live music by Sweet Something Jazz as you explore the Conservatory. Sweet Something is a DC-based cocktail jazz ensemble. Their signature sound is a harmonic blend of retro allure and contemporary sophistication—where the classics of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Nat King Cole come alive.

In partnership with the Friends of the U.S. Botanic Garden, local vendor Vintage Views will offer hot chocolate, botanical non-alcoholic mocktails, and snacks for purchase. Additionally, local baked goods pastry chef Lillian Natalie Cake will have botanical cookies, cakes, pies, and other assorted pastries decorated with edible flowers available for purchase.

Who: Sweet Something

Blues

Founded in September of 2018 by jazz vocalist Ariana Harbin, Sweet Something is a DC-based project that is ever-changing and growing. Retro, smooth, and timeless. Sweet Something was created by vocalist and front-woman, Ariana Harbin, with the intention of bringing her favorite jazz tunes of yesteryear back to life. Expect to hear the great music of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sinatra, Nat King Cole and more during the band’s performance. The group has provided entertainment for various events in the DMV area, including weddings, corporate events and cocktail hours, charity galas, retirement parties, and more, and has performed at venues like The Army Navy Club, The DC Botanic Gardens, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Watergate Hotel, and many more. Sweet Something can perform with either a duo (vocals and keys), trio (vocals, keys, and bass) or quartet (vocals, keys, bass, and drums) depending on the event.

So whether you’re hosting a speakeasy event, or just have a group of old-timey music-lovers, Sweet Something would be happy to make your event even more special!
