“Jamming on the Job,” the hit podcast from PBS Kids, turns into an interactive live show! Christina, Andrés, and Pierce Freelon (BoomBox) love traveling but – yikes! They hit a few roadblocks along the way. Young audiences get to learn about all sorts of helpers with cool careers, armed with the skills to solve problems and save the day. With fun visuals and catchy, original songs, this performance explores the world of work. Young audiences and families will jam while they learn about jobs and mindsets that can help us be successful, no matter what we do. Picture yourself in the future with jobs like Fire Manager, Wind Turbine Service Technician, Airport Operations Manager, and more!

Who: Pierce Freelon

Pierce Freelon is a Grammy-nominated musician, author, and educator from Durham, North Carolina. He is the co-creator of Beat Making Lab, an Emmy Award-winning PBS web series and is the writer, composer and co-director of the PBS animated series The History of White People in America, an official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival. His Grammy-nominated Children’s Music album Black to the Future has been featured on NPR, Billboard and MSNBC. His debut Children’s picture book, Daddy Daughter Day will be released with Little, Brown books this Father’s Day. Freelon is a former Durham City Councilman, a husband and a father of two based in Durham, North Carolina.
