What: J. Coursey Willis @ Harris Crab House

When:

J. Coursey Willis @ Harris Crab House

The tide runs hard through the Kent Narrows. So does the music.

Since 1947, the Harris family has been pulling crabs and oysters from these waters. Before the dining rooms and dock bars, this was just a packing house—hard work, rough hands, and the smell of the Bay clinging to everything. Some things have changed. Some haven’t.

This summer, I’m bringing a run of solo, unplugged shows to Harris Crab House—where the songs hit right, the beer stays cold, and the J.O. is always heavy. No frills. No big production. Just me, a guitar, and a set that cuts deep. Gritty originals, some unexpected covers, and stories that belong to this place. If you’ve been to one of these nights before, you already know. If you haven’t—well, it’s about time.

Pull up a chair, crack a cold one, and let’s do this.

🎟️ No cover – just show up. See you at the water’s edge.

Who: J. Coursey Willis

Rock
Described as “The imagined child of Jim Morrison and Alanis Morissette,” J. Coursey Willis is a haunting alternative rock figure, known for his poignant lyrics, brooding sound, and galvanizing performances. His music delves into addiction, despair, heartbreak, and tragedy, yet there is beauty amidst the darkness. With a voice reminiscent of Eddie Vedder and Layne Staley, audiences appreciate his nostalgia, raw honesty, and introspective songs. Willis formed a permanent production team and touring band with members of Candlebox and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, having previously worked with other prominent musicians. His devoted following praises his evocative voice and poetic lyrics, comparing his recent single “Niles” to a modern-day “Ballad of Curtis Loew.”
