When:
Pianist and composer Katarina Kochetova, winner of the 2024 Joe Zawinul Prize, presents Overdubs in Jazz - Jazz Beyond Borders: The Overdub Sessions, a new project that combines the creative energy of the New York and Vienna jazz scenes. The forthcoming album, Patience, features a series of original modern jazz compositions conceived for remote collaboration. Internationally acclaimed musicians were invited to overdub their parts with a core trio from Vienna and New York—Katarina on piano, Ben Tiberio on double bass, and Valentin Duit on drums.

Who: KATARINA KOCHETOVA
Jazz
Katarina Kochetova (UA/RS) is a jazz pianist, composer, singer and arranger. She started her music
journey as a classical pianist at the age of 6, and at the age of 13 she became one of the
youngest students in Belgrade’s music high school in jazz department. Katarina decided to
move to Vienna (AT) and continue her music education on university level on “Music and
Arts University of the City of Vienna”. She had an opportunity to be an exchange student in
Stockholm (SE) on “Royal College of Music”, where she spent the past year being an active
musician on Stockholm’s jazz scene. She has played with many established jazz musicians
such as Jure Pukl, Vladimir Kostadinovic, Håkan Broström, among many others. At the
moment, she is finishing her Bachelor studies and currently is working on her debut album.
