Ali Hossein Mahdavi is a composer and pianist from Tehran, based in Vienna. His work moves between contemporary music and modern jazz aesthetics. Modal concepts, complex rhythmic structures influenced by Iranian tradition, and a consciously shaped relationship between composed structure and spontaneous development define his musical language. His trio project Lost Stop has been performed internationally in several European countries.
In this quartet, Ali Hossein presents a selection of his compositions, including released works and some unreleased pieces.
Mark Holub performs on drums. He is an American drummer, composer and bandleader based in Vienna and founder of Led Bib, with an active international presence in contemporary jazz.
Karin Waldburger performs on tenor saxophone and works between jazz, improvised and contemporary music. Alongside her concert activity, she teaches saxophone and works as an author of audio description.
Gregor Aufmesser performs on double bass. As a composer and bandleader, including with the ensemble “Aufmessers Schneide,” he is active in various formations within the Austrian scene.
