Join us for an intimate evening at Annette Studios in the Junction featuring two short, focused solo piano-and-voice sets from longtime friends and collaborators Rebecca Hennessy and Carlie Howell.
Both artists have followed songwriting paths that led them to rich collaborations with celebrated poets. Carlie Howell has been working with acclaimed Canadian author Eva Tihanyi through their work with The Electric Storm Collective, composing music to Tihanyi’s poetry and recently releasing both a full album and a chapbook. Rebecca Hennessy has been setting the poetry of Thomas King to music since 2017, crafting songs that fuse his lyrical imagery with her own melodic voice. Her forthcoming album—featuring these songs—will begin to be released in October 2025. This concert offers a rare chance to hear these poetically inspired works performed on solo piano and voice in an intimate and welcoming space.
Come for an evening of heartfelt songwriting, brought to life by two of Toronto’s most original voices.
