What: Hollerado @ BOND|ST Event Centre

When:

Hollerado @ BOND|ST Event Centre Hollerado is a band that existed from 2008 until 2019, from a small town called Manotick, Ontario. During that time, they played a couple thousand shows - in basements, stadiums and everything in between. Their DIY spirit and say yes attitude took them on tours through over 20 countries including cities as far and wide as Sao Paolo, Beijing, Moscow and Hamilton, with bands like Weezer, Flaming Lips, Sum 41 and Fred Penner. Along the way, frontman Menno Versteeg started Royal Mountain Records to release the bands own music, which eventually led to the discovery of internationally acclaimed artists like Alvvays, PUP and Orville Peck, as well as releases from Mac Demarco, Metz and U.S Girls. The 4-time JUNO losers had a whole bunch of hit songs, and one gold record that took literally 13 years to get there. In 2019, the band retired after a 60+ plus date world tour that concluded with 3 sold out nights at the Danforth Music Hall, and a final show at Torontos Horseshoe Tavern. On one of those last shows, longtime pals Tokyo Police Club opened the night, so years later when they asked Hollerado to come out of retirement for a couple days to play their final shows, we said yes. And those were so darn fun we decided that six years was a long enough break, and 2025 would be the year we get back on the horse and see if it remembers the way back to town. …..and, yes, we wrote this bio ourselves and, yes, the first part of it was written in the third person because otherwise it sounds weird. -HOLLERADO

Who: Hollerado

Rock
Hollerado’s debut album Record In A Bag came out in 2009 and received a Canadian JUNO award nomination for Best New Artist. Their incredible Americanarama video garnered over 1.4 Million YouTube views with its forcefully creative approach to video making, and the album spawned the Top 10 radio hits Americanarama and Juliette as well as Top 20 radio hit “Got To Lose.” The launch of White Paint followed, their 2013 studio release, which included the Top 10 song and video for So It Goes, a wrenchingly personal story about lead singer Menno Versteeg’s Dutch grandfather, whose life life was spared in World World II. Hollerado’s band ethos is spent building a music community of music loving fans, so it’s no surprise that 2015’s 111 Songs was a project where they wrote custom songs for specific fans. This exhaustive continuous songwriting project built the working framework for the release for their new single, Born Yesterday, which hints at the sheer energy of musical and creative offerings to come from the band in 2017.
