When:

Frank Fiction @ Crown and Press - A Julia Veenstra Gallery and Cafe

A Bluebird-style night where Frank Fiction and guests trade songs up close, with off-the-cuff moments that make each show one-of-a-kind. Songs In The Round returns to Crown & Press on January 22—an intimate, Bluebird-inspired evening where three artists trade original songs and stories. The audience sits close on all sides, watching the musical conversation unfold in real time and becoming part of the exchange through reactions, laughs, and the odd gut-punch.

This month features:

Frank Fiction (Elias Dummer) — Alt-Folk / Hamilton The regular host of Songs In The Round, Frank Fiction is the new project from Juno Award–winning songwriter Elias Dummer (frontman of The City Harmonic). Performing unreleased alt-folk songs and a few sideways covers, he draws from two decades of quietly crafted material.

His writing leans into vulnerability and a crooked smile, echoing Jason Isbell, Rufus Wainwright, Andy Shauf, and John Prine. With 100M+ streams and multiple Billboard-charting singles behind him, this project steps into something looser, grounded, and deeply human.

Karli June — Country Karli June is a fast-rising voice in Canadian country music, blending heartfelt songwriting with a magnetic stage presence. Rooted in rural Ontario and already landing major radio success, she heads into 2025 with a Boots & Hearts performance, a sophomore EP, and growing international airplay. Her catalogue includes Top 20 and Top 30 singles across Canada and Australia, standout tracks like “Always Gonna Be,” “Feel Like Home,” and the SiriusXM #1 “Still Make Cowgirls,” and millions of combined streams. Onstage, she brings energy, warmth, and a storyteller’s instinct.

Daniel Del Russo — Charlotte, NC — Folk Singer-Songwriter Daniel Del Russo is a lyric-driven writer with striking range—praised for “soaring, emotional vocals and storytelling that sticks with you.” His songs carry intimacy and lift, the kind that land hardest in a true listening room.

What is Songs In The Round? Born from Frank’s decade in Nashville and the ethos of the Bluebird Café, Songs In The Round is a stripped-back concert where three artists share the stage at once—taking turns sharing original songs (or songs they wish they’d written!), responding to each other, and letting their songs breathe.

These nights tend to sell out. If you want a seat in the room, don’t wait.

Who: Frank Fiction

Indie Folkpop
Frank Fiction is the new moniker of a Juno-winning songwriter who spent a decade in Nashville crafting songs that quietly found their way onto Billboard charts and into millions of headphones. Now back in Hamilton, Ontario—and with a history of hits that never quite fit the mould—Frank Fiction returns to his lyrical instincts with an alt-folk project channelling Ben Folds, John Prine, and Andy Shauf: steeped in wit, memory, and crooked hope.
