Born and raised in Japan, Amps grew up immersed in his father’s jazz and yacht rock records, as well as the tribal cadences of local festival music. These early influences form the emotional backbone of his sound — one that is simultaneously classic and alive.

Since beginning his DJ career in 2008, Amps has developed a reputation for deeply human, groove-oriented sets that balance sophistication and heat. He made his production debut in 2014 on the Tokyo-based label TREKKIE TRAX, and since 2022, has focused on Tech House imbued with rich jazz harmony, tribal energy, and raw analog textures.
