What: Warwick Kennedy @ The Trocadero Room

When:

Warwick Kennedy @ The Trocadero Room Warwick Kennedy has spent the last few years cutting his teeth within the local Sydney scene. Performing as solo artist whilst simultaneously collaborating with a myriad of local Sydney artists (Gloomie, Mannequin Radio, p.music, Eunuchs). His songs blend quiet and introspective musical passages with the chaotic angular rhythms often present in contemporary post-punk. His new album “Sweet Dreams” was primarily live tracked and is a reflection of Warwick’s experience as a live artist. Lyrically the work explores disillusionment, love, friendship and his home city of Sydney. Warwick Kennedy present “Sweet Dreams” his first full length album live at The Trocadero Room. Joining him are The Brights and Jude Pascal.

Who: Warwick Kennedy

Alternative
Warwick Kennedy & The Suspicious Minds, circa 2017, captivate audiences with an authentic mix of alternate rock, and folk influences. Taking inspiration from singer songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and Elliott Smith to the more chaotic sounds of Iceage and Bright Eyes, Warwick Kennedy developed his own body of work before meeting members of The Suspicious Minds. Together, they began to adapt Warwick’s work to the more dynamic setting of the band, and after several months of rehearsals, nights and days writing, and countless cups of tea, they decided to begin recording their debut EP. The group’s first single “Alibi” is due to be released on the 20th of September.
