What: The Genevieves @ Lazy Thinking

When:

The Genevieves @ Lazy Thinking

The Genevieves are a Kaurna based rock band. All four members are equal parts in the machine, blending together four creative voices into a dynamic and unique sound. Following the success of their debut EP and east coast tour in early 2025, The Genevieves show no sign of stopping, heading up the east coast in September in support of their new single ‘Standing In Your Way’. Their live set captures the group at their strongest, mixing elements of proto punk, shoegaze and noise rock into an exploration in sonic landscapes, raw energy and personal melancholy.

For this show they are joined by locals Our Mutual Friend and Creeping Jenny to celebrate their release. Doors are at 6pm. Fun times from then onwards.

Who: The Genevieves

Garage Rock

The Genevieves are an Adelaide-based rock band inspired by artists such as Sonic Youth, Osees, My Bloody Valentine, The Stooges and CAN. All four members are equal parts in the machine, with ever-changing front-person and writing responsibilities creating dynamic recordings and performance. Playing 60+ shows across Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra, The Genevieves have furiously climbed to a 2025 debut EP ‘Dog Dreams’, a concoction of fast punk anthems, post-punk oddity and shoegaze ballads, accompanied with a successful East Coast tour. The release captures the ever-developing live set: an exploration in sonic landscapes, raw energy and personal melancholy.

“The Genevieves are a four-piece noise-rock collective that embody the philosophy of prioritising genuine, ‘internal’ artistic creation over the desires or expectations of an audience. They destroy and reconstruct the recognised touchstones of conventional music, embracing dissonance, distortion, and unconventional textures to create raw, visceral, and intense sonic experiences.” – Max Levy, The Infinite Rise
