What: Miss Kaninna @ Enmore Theatre

When:

Miss Kaninna @ Enmore Theatre

Presented by: Astral People

Taking it back to the essence, Droppin’ Science is a night dedicated to hip hop in all its forms, celebrating the culture that raised us, the pioneers who opened doors, and the new wave of trailblazers walking boldly through them.

Landing in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Droppin’ Science brings together the fearlessly creative, the wildly influential, and the unapologetically authentic; headlined by De La Soul, with Oddisee & Good Compny and Miss Kaninna joining the bill. Three is the magic number: three artists, three cities, three nights.

Few groups embody that spirit like De La Soul. The Long Island group changed the game from the moment they arrived, injecting colour, wit, and self-awareness into hip hop with their genre-shaping debut 3 Feet High and Rising. Their free-thinking creativity helped define an entire movement, shifting the culture from the streets to the global stage. Decades on, their music still sounds like the future.

Joining them is Oddisee & Good Compny, the DMV rapper, producer and polymath known for blending jazz, funk, go-go, and hip hop. Oddisee has self-produced and released a catalogue of modern classics (The Good Fight, The Iceberg, ODD CURE) and his live band performances are transcendental.

Completing the lineup is Miss Kaninna, one of Australia’s most powerful new voices. A proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali woman, she blends hip hop, neo-soul and R&B into anthemic empowerment and resistance. With breakout singles Blak Brittney and Pinnacle Bitch, and a debut EP that swept the 2025 AIR Awards, Miss Kaninna is unfiltered, unstoppable, and a cultural force.

From the golden age to the present day, Droppin’ Science is where legacies meet the new guard, a high-voltage celebration of hip hop’s rhythm, rebellion, and revolutionary power.

Presented by Astral People, Droppin’ Science is an all-out salute to the sound that shaped us, the voices that continue to push it forward, and the communities that keep it alive.

This is hip hop. In full colour.

Who: Miss Kaninna

Hip Hop
Miss Kaninna is a First Nations artist whose music, voice, and presence have positioned her as one of the most compelling figures in so-called Australian music today. Hailing from Bruny Island, Tasmania, and of Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon, and Yirendali heritage, she made history in 2024 with her debut single Blak Britney, earning three ARIA nominations and becoming the first independent Aboriginal woman nominated for an ARIA for a debut single. The track hit #1 on triple j, featured in Netflix’s Heartbreak High, and was recognised by Rolling Stone as one of the Best Australian & NZ Songs of the 21st Century. Her debut EP KANINNA received critical acclaim, an ARIA nomination for Best Hip-Hop Release, and major wins at the 2025 AIR Awards. Renowned for ferocious, genre-defying live performances, Miss Kaninna has toured internationally, supported artists including M.I.A and Stormzy, and continues to use her platform in service of culture, community, and change.
