Aussie soul slinger Kara’s Grainger is known for her groove-rooted sound and mean slide guitar. Her sultry vocals melt hearts and minds. Combining tasteful blues and slide guitar, soulful vocals and a heartfelt approach to songwriting, Kara’s unique sound is uplifting and inspiring. Early in her career, she and her brother Mitch formed the band “Papa Lips” which was heavily influenced by New Orleans blues and soul. They toured throughout Australia and produced two albums that received national air play. Kara’s debut solo album “Grand and Green River” received critical acclaim and charted in the Americana top 30 for 38 weeks. Kara made two further albums “LA Blues”, paying tribute to Kara’s earliest blues inspirations and “Shiver and Sigh” (2013) on Los Angeles record label Eclecto Groove and produced by Grammy award winning producer David Z. This album features some of LA’s finest musicians, including Mike Finnigan, Hutch Hutchinson, James Gadson and Kirk Fletcher. Kara has performed at festivals all over world. She has opened for Peter Frampton, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal and Jonny Lang, to name a few. She’s working on a new CD with producer Anders Osborne that will be out in early 2018. http://www.karagrainger.com/
