Fresh off their massive 30+ date second European tour, Wollongong garage punks HOON return to Australia with a run of dates across the East Coast in August.
They’re bringing back the raw, off-kilter energy of their live show—equal parts chaotic and charming—with the release of their second vinyl record, ‘Speed and Fatigue’ in tow.
The album sharpens their sound, weaving together fast, jagged punk with post-punk textures and flashes of Brit-rock, while leaning further into the larrikin spirit of their uniquely Australian take on punk rock.
Speed and Fatigue is out now on vinyl through Idiotape Records
Coming from the Wollongong/Dharawal Australian punk scene, Hoon are a 4 piece garage punk band that has developed a chaotic neutral between composure and compulsion for over 10 years. Striking a balance with pummeling drums, soaring guitars and messages of sociological and political critique, they hold a mirror to modern Australia—cracked, smudged, and soaked in beer.
2025 is set to raise a new hell for Hoon, as they release their new album ‘Speed and Fatigue’. The record sharpens their sound, weaving together fast, jagged punk with post-punk textures and flashes of Brit-rock, while leaning further into the larrikin spirit of their uniquely Australian take on punk rock. With new music, an Australian tour, the third edition of their self presented 10 venue one day festival ‘The Gong Crawl’ and their second European tour, the year is truly primed to party for Hoon. Let’s go.
‘Speed and Fatigue’ out May 30th
