Fat Hamster & KANG New is a South Korea-based electro-punk duo known for their high-energy live performances. They founded the independent label LetzRatz, through which they independently release their music. Over the years, they have performed at various events and music festivals, including the International Environmental Theater Festival, Zandari Festa, and Block Party Music & Art Festival. They are also actively performing in live venues across multiple cities in Korea.
Beyond Korea, the duo has been expanding their reach internationally, successfully completing Japan tours in 2023 and 2024 and a Thailand tour in 2024. In 2025, they are set to perform at European festivals, including Colours of Ostrava (Czechia), La Mar de Músicas Festival (Spain), and Les Escales Festival (France).
Fat Hamster & KANG New’s sound is defined by heavy basslines, distorted synths, and socially conscious lyrics, staying true to the electro-punk genre. Their live set blends Fat Hamster’s real-time track controlling with KANG New’s electronic percussion and distinctive vocal performances, creating an intense yet danceable atmosphere that is both powerful and unique. They have been featured in Platform Magazine’s Top 100 Tracks for three consecutive years and were recently selected as one of ‘10 Must-See Korean Indie Artists’ by The Korea Times.
