The project (solo and band) of LA-based singer-songwriter Linda Sao, see night creates dynamic indie rock that alternates between hard-driving and dreamy. Cathartic songs delivered with haunting vocals, swelling drums, and atmospheric guitars straddle somewhere between ‘90s indie rock and woozy shoegaze. After two self-released EPs, Pavement’s Bob Nastanovich put out the band’s first vinyl, the “Eloquence” 7-inch on his Brokers Tip Records, and a new 2025 release, Just Another Life, features both pandemic-written songs and 2024 tracks. Bob Boilen says, “I’m loving this record.” The band has opened for Bonnie Prince Billy, The Pack AD, Widowspeak, Rogue Wave, John Vanderslice, Quilt, Lady Lamb, and more. Sao has DIY toured EU/UK solo five times and opened solo for both post-rock bands and acoustic troubadours.
