She returns to the US in August, and launches her new show ‘Queer Arrivals’ at Liverpool Irish Festival in Oct 2025. Musically, this is similar to some of the best contemporary folk music out there. Solid lyrical stories with intricate vocals and harmonies, it’s just top-notch musicianship. We <3 Music Beyond her solo work, Gráinne thrives in collaboration working with award winning guitarist Brendan Walsh on Songs from Ireland and Hibsen, a literary folk project who wrote an album based on James Joyce’s “Dubliners”. “The hardest working woman in Irish music.” Glen Hansard www.grainnehunt.com www.Facebook.com/GrainneHuntMusic https://www.instagram.com/grainnehunt https://www.youtube.com.grainnehunt https://open.spotify.com/artist/7BCD2hkYfZj2y454dFSgpC?si=GPYXcm_iSv6MF5oHiZRckQ Have you ever been walking down the street, and suddenly heard a voice that made you walk into a venue to see whose it was? That is Jimbo Scott’s voice - a bell, magnetic and the definition of a powerhouse. A favorite of the Bay Area’s folk and Americana scene, Jimbo Scott has been entertaining audiences far and wide for more than a decade, including 2 years as a member of the famed NorCal Jamgrass band, Poor Man’s Whiskey. His solo work evokes traditions of Tennessee country and bluegrass, Oakland soul in sepia toned California landscapes and life-scapes. Described by Tahoe Weekly as “Honest Honey-Eyed Americana”, Jimbo’s music casts reflections around the room, flashing from honest self-deprecation to cinematic retrospectives on our part in shaping our communities and accounting the consequences of our actions and inactions. His signature baritone voice has moved many an audience including The Kate Wolf Music Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Salmonfest and the Fillmore. Jimbo Scott is a rising force in the NorCal Americana Scene, not to be missed and best to be consumed with reckless abandon. www.jimboscottmusic.com www.facebook.com/jimboscottmusic https://www.instagram.com/jimboscottmusic www.youtube.com/jimboscottmusic Recommended If You Like: Joni Mitchell, Glen Hansard, Natalie Merchant

Who: Grainne Hunt Music

Contemporary Folk

With a voice like complex coffee - rich, bold, and unforgettable - Gráinne Hunt is a standout among Ireland’s most compelling vocalists and songwriters, her music blends raw emotion with a quiet, commanding power.

“The Irish Joni.” Michael Londra

Her two original records draw from deeply personal experiences, weaving stories of pain, longing, and desire. These songs have earned her comparisons to Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, and Dolores Keane. Gráinne’s most recent album of original work, This Secret (2019), was recorded in Nashville with Grammy-nominated producer Thomm Jutz. The album’s poignant lyrics explore the scars of relationships, offering listeners an emotional release and a sense of healing through her music.

“A natural performer, Gráinne Hunt commands an astounding voice that will melt your heart. No crowd can resist.” Declan O’Rourke

Her reputation as a powerhouse performer has landed her on stages alongside Glen Hansard and U2, with opening slots for legends like Gladys Knight, Mary Black, and Eagle-Eye Cherry. After showcasing at Folk Alliance International in 2024, she secured an O-1 visa to cement her presence stateside over the next three years. She kicked off 2025 showcasing at Celtic Connections, and is booking into 2026 already.

Beyond her solo work, Gráinne thrives in collaboration. As one half of the duo Gráinne and Brendan, she weaves folk, classical, and traditional music with guitarist Brendan Walsh. Their 2019 album Songs From Ireland pays homage to their roots. She is also one-half of Hibsen, a literary folk project with Jim Murphy. Their 2023 release, The Stern Task of Living, inspired by James Joyce’s Dubliners, received critical praise for its poetic depth and haunting beauty.
