The Peripheries play nostalgia-free New Wave, influenced by the classic mood of the early 1980s. They have been described as a “sensation” (Fame) and Murmansk has been called a “masterpiece” (Earmilk), while Mechanical Reproductions has been called a “debut to be proud of” (Radiocoop) and their live show “captivating” (Ver Sacrum)
Their 2025 debut album, Mechanical Reproductions, features the singles “Colder than your smile”, “Lodestar” and “Murmansk”. Other highlights include the piano and solo voice track, “A shadow passing over”. Follow-up track “The Trial of John Africa” was released in May 2025 to mark the 40th anniversary of events in Osage Avenue, Philadelphia.
