Bad Static is an all-girl punk band based in New York City, formed in 2021. With a gritty, electrifying sound rooted in the Riot Grrrl movement of the 1990s, the band delivers hard-hitting, socially conscious music that confronts double standards, challenges injustice, and amplifies feminist themes.
Known for their raw energy and refusal to hold back, Bad Static has been hailed by Huck Magazine as “vanguards of the genre’s [Riot Grrrl] new wave.” In August 2021, they won the Emerging Artist Award from Deli Magazine.
Since kicking off their touring journey in 2025, Bad Static has hit stages across the U.S., Canada, England, and France — including a performance at the 10th annual LOUD WOMEN FEST in London.
They’ve supported rising punk acts like Sorry Mom and continue to carve out a space in the scene, not just with their music, but through community-building.
