Who: Augusta (FR)

Folk

Augusta is a French-English folk artist writing songs with delicate guitar work and thoughtful melodies. Her music flows with ease, balancing reflection and emotional intensity. Her debut EP The Beetles & the Bugs (2022) introduced her tender, poetic style, followed by I Don’t Think I Do (2023), which deepened her exploration of human connection and vulnerability. Augusta has built a world of intimate guitar work, soft-spoken truths, and the kind of choruses that stay long after the room has emptied.

Augusta’s sound drifts between folk, indie folk, and singer-songwriter traditions — think Laura Marling, Adrianne Lenker, Billie Marten, Alice Phoebe Lou, or Anna Leone (in her dreams, she says). She draws inspiration from artists such as Big Thief, Julia Jacklin, First Aid Kit, Courtney Marie Andrews, Nathaniel Rateliff, Flyte, Watchhouse, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Lumineers, and Mumford & Sons, among others.

Her new single She Begs, from the upcoming EP Make a River of My Spine (2026), sits in the stillness of difficult days, where grief and tenderness move together. This is Augusta’s first EP recorded with a full band. Their playing wraps around her songs like a steady embrace, adding depth and colour to the bare guitar-and-voice intimacy of her earlier releases. It’s a body of work about feeling fully, even when it’s awkward, and inviting you to do the same.

Augusta has opened for Novo Amor, Solann, Tom Rosenthal, Harrison Storm, Jeremie Albino, and Black Sea Dahu, and her live performances have taken her across Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Spain, and England.

Her music doesn’t rush to resolve, it lingers and lets the listener feel their way through.
