Silent Utterances by OcampoWang Dance - a contemporary dance using multimedia to illuminate the immigrant experience. This project shines a light on the complexities of immigrant identities, focusing particularly on the experiences of women and children. Our multigenerational and multiracial cast embodies the spirit of the immigrant stories that we collected as personal narratives across many interviews with people who crossed oceans and continents to arrive in a new world. Our process for Silent Utterances, like this country, is a melting pot, where diverse immigrant experiences will be swirled together to form new communities and new possibilities.
