Catherine Moan is the electronic synth pop project from artist Angel Jefferson based in Philadelphia, PA. Her sound derives from the influential 80s acts such as Depeche Mode, New Order, Strawberry Switchblade, as well as modern synth pop outfits such as CHVRCHES and Chromatics. Using vintage synths and contemporary songwriting styles, Catherine Moan blends 80’s sounds with upbeat indie pop optimism and oftentimes silly lyrics to set a dark but cheeky tone. In 2021 she released her debut album Chain Reaction followed by the single Soda Pop and is now touring and playing shows to spread aspirational joy and get people dancing
