YOUNEE from South Korea is a virtuoso, composer, prize winning pianist and awarded singer and songwriter. Acclaimed for her new and creative musical style, whose music fuses classical music with genres such as rock, pop, and jazz, has achieved remarkable success in Germany. She earned B.A. in classical piano from Yonsei University. Before she left her home country, she had already gained star-status in South Korea. Then she released a Pop/ Jazz vocal album in the U.K and appeared on BBC Woman’s hour, Jazz line up and more. Then she released 2 piano solo albums in Germany ( Jugendstil, My Piano ). Both her piano solo albums were ranked No.1 in German record salesin classical, Jazz and crossover album charts. Also she has performed on numerous stages, both in classical and jazz festivals and concert halls such as Beethoven Festival, Leverkusener Jazztage, Woman in Jazz and Elbphilharmonie and many more. German media praises her as being the most innovative artist of this era like a “Keith Jarrett in updated classic”. Younee, has long left her mark, not only due to her unique and virtuoso piano playing. By means of her awesome power of improvisation and that exceptional gift of being able to improvise and to compose freely on a classical foundation , she has defined her very own type of style: “Free Classic & Jazz”!
