Since 2009, POSTYR has crafted a unique blend of vocal music, combining five distinct voices with electronic beats for an emotional and original sound. The Danish quintet, whose name means “disturbance,” has consistently pushed the limits of a cappella, gaining international recognition for their innovation.
POSTYR’s members—Tine Fris-Ronsfeld (soprano), Sørine Bager (alto), Andreas Bech (tenor), Anders Hornshøj Laugesen (baritone), and Kristoffer Fynbo Thorning (bass and laptop)—met through Denmark’s renowned choral scene, including the Vocal Line and Vox 11. Their mission to merge traditional choral techniques with modern electronics has defined their sound.
The group has toured globally, performing in the U.S., China, Taiwan, and Europe. Their live shows are immersive experiences, enhanced by sound-controlled lights and electronics, captivating audiences worldwide.
POSTYR’s innovation has earned them prestigious awards, including the CARA Award for ‘Best European EP 2022’ and ‘Best European Album 2016’ for Paper Tiger. They were also runners-up to Pentatonix in the CARA categories for ‘Best Live Act’ and ‘Best Pop Album.’
Other achievements include winning the Tampere Vocal Music Competition (2011) and the Varese Vocal Festival (2010). Their single “My Future Self” received significant airplay, including rotation on Germany’s Radio Eins.
POSTYR’s music has appeared in advertising campaigns for Vero Moda, Samsung, and Danish TV series. Supported by cultural organizations like the Danish Arts Council and Nordic Culture Fund, POSTYR continues to push the boundaries of a cappella music.
