Potato are a four-human band based between South East London and Margate, England, and are made up of Bob Corduroy (vocals/guitar/keys/clarinet), Matt Wildman (bass/guitar/synth), Sam Zissou (drums) and Sam Honey (guitar). Potato’s sound is a rich and hearty blend of wonky Slacker Rock, Progressive Rock, Jazz, Opera and smatterings of everything inbetween, with influences such as Good Morning, Happyness, King Crimson and Phillip Glass.
With a mutual love of melodic noise, time signatures and brutally honest lyrics exploring insecurity, self-doubt, failure and (on occasion) undiluted starch-based joy, Potato and its constituent neuroticism, dysfunction and disturbing levels of sweat production was formed in 2020. Potato have since been playing live, looking awkward, and pondering if their parents ever loved them.
