Who: NUNNE

World Fusion
Mexican singer-songwriter NUNNE (born Yosune Yáñez) has navigated a profound journey of self-discovery through music. Beginning her career with formal training in voice and piano at age 11, she quickly ascended to international stages like Lollapalooza and Foro Indie Rocks, captivating audiences with her innate musicality and lyrical prowess. Relocating to Montreal at 18 to study audio engineering in Recording Arts Canada and Concordia University, NUNNE forged her unique musical style, blending traditional Latin genres with modern urban influences. Her acclaimed debut EP, “La Selenita”, celebrated for its exploration of immigration and nostalgia, earned her nominations at the EMPY Awards, Latin Awards Canada, and Premios Influencia, while also garnering feature coverage in magazines like Rolling Stone en Español and Billboard! As she prepares to release her second studio album, “Hakú”, inspired by personal loss and friendship, NUNNE continues to enchant audiences with her emotive storytelling and distinctive musical style, solidifying her role as a transformative voice in contemporary Latin music
