Montreal-based vocalist Karen Myatt’s soulful sound is a musical mélange of jazz, blues, rock, worldbeat and more. After training at the Randolph Academy in Toronto and graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, Myatt performed across North America and Europe. Career highlights include appearing as a soloist on the Halifax Jazz Festival’s mainstage, NYC’s Town Hall stage, on CBC Music’s East Coast Music Hour and with Symphony Nova Scotia. Her most recent MusicNS-nominated album - Femoir - celebrates the feminine spirit and features a collection of original compositions and contemporary standards. The artist’s original music features profound lyrics with the singer’s powerful voice at its centre.
