Celebrating its 45th anniversary, the Université de Montréal Big Band will take the stage at Théâtre Outremont, welcoming as guest soloists several professors from the Jazz Department of the Faculty of Music. Under the direction of João Lenhari, you will hear trombonist Jean-Nicolas Trottier, guitarist Reno De Stefano, pianists John Roney and Manoel Vieira, saxophonist Dany Roy, as well as João Lenhari himself as soloists. They will perform jazz standards and an original arrangement by Dany Roy, alongside the students of the Big Band. Trumpeter Ron Di Lauro, Professor Emeritus of the Faculty, will also take part in this festive concert.
This concert is part of the Festival Vibrations, which will take place from October 16 to 18, 2025, and is included in the special programming celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Music at the Université de Montréal, as well as the 150th anniversary of the Outremont borough.
The Faculty of Music gratefully acknowledges the support of the Sophie Desmarais Fund for the Université de Montréal Big Band.
