Emily Steinwall est une multi-instrumentiste et compositrice originaire de Toronto, où elle reste toujours. Son premier album solo, Welcome to the Garden, a été autoproduit et sortie de façon indépendante en 2021. La pièce titre a remporté le Prix de la chanson SOCAN 2022, et elle est partie faire un longue tournée Canadienne. Steinwall est présentement en train de finaliser son deuxième album complet, dont la sortie est prévue pour le début de 2026, et qui s’intitulera But, There Is Beauty in the Fall from Grace.
Hanorah:
La recherche est au cœur de la nouvelle collection de chansons live de Hanorah. Sa tournée dans diverses régions du Canada, des États-Unis et du Royaume-Uni a permis à une vague de sons frais d’émerger pour cette artiste reconnue pour sa voix puissamment soulful. Après une récente séparation collaborative, elle a accueilli un mélange de musiciens virtuoses issus de genres tels que le RnB, le rock et le shoegaze, pour accompagner sa prouesse vocale alors qu’elle navigue à travers des ballades harmoniques douces et des morceaux plus lourds. Peu importe le tempo, son spectacle dégage chaleur, humour et vulnérabilité.
Hanorah is a multidisciplinary artist based out of a small studio filled with cats, canvases, & glittered tape recorders in Montréal’s west end. Influenced by the likes of Etta James and Joni Mitchell, the combination of Hanorah’s powerful voice and the vulnerability of her messaging naturally drew her to soul music. Her recent 2023 EP ‘Time Waits For No Woman’ was described by the Montréal Guardian “as a poignant rebuttal to the profit-oriented forces that commodify female artists, reducing their worth to their youth […] the EP stands as a powerful testament to Hanorah’s unwavering resilience and musical prowess.”
Following an early record deal, Hanorah released her debut EP ‘For The Good Guys And The Bad Guys’ in 2019. The record amassed over a million streams, won several awards, and helped her tour extensively through Canada and the U.S.. In 2022, Hanorah released her debut album ‘Perennial’ through Ensoul records. It was featured on radio stations across Canada and received numerous spots on Spotify editorial playlists. Exclaim! Magazine listed the LP as a ‘staff pick’ and she performed tracks on the hit Québec TV show Belle et Bum.
After her first U.K. tour and several slots at SXSW, a follow-up EP is now in the works for late 2024.
