So Where To Today?

emmersonHALL’s music is a logical endpoint for someone who was raised on country music before being given unfettered access to the internet. The instrumentation is there- mandolin, acoustic, and steel guitar are omnipresent; the lyrics are there- odes to loneliness, childhood, and heartbreak; but there is something distinctly not country about emmersonHALL. Maybe it’s the bass-centric composition style, or the dedication to emo/punk projects Sorry Snowman and Backseat Dragon, it might even be the jazz degree, but we definitely aren’t in Kansas anymore. After 2023’s self-titled debut album received generous support from Atwood and Exclaim!, the stage has been set for a new single (‘Air’), a spring tour of the East Coast, and an upcoming sophomore LP, to be released via Club Records.
