Adesso, dopo tutti questi anni, è arrivato il momento di celebrare questa società fonografica pazzesca, la Other Eyes Records, con un festival che raccoglie tutto quello che ha seminato lungo il percorso, che si terrà proprio dove tutto è iniziato, in Valtidone, a Sarmato. Nove live set per un totale di 270 minuti di concerti, su un palco che vedrà alternarsi i local heroes Liquid Germs, the Temponauts, the Backdoor Society, Feet Down Below, Music from Neptune, Mean Frequency, the Warm Morning Brothers, insieme anche a due artisti internazionali, Matt Purcell and band dall’Australia e Gregory Jones dall’Inghilterra. Un’alternanza di set elettrici al cardio palma e momenti acustici tra folk e pop fuori dal tempo.
Ma non solo musica, dato che nell’area dove si terrà il festival ci sarà il mercato di vinili, la Feed Your Head micro art gallery con le illustrazioni di Sara Molinaroli (che ha firmato negli anni alcune tra le più originali covers del roster di artisti). A completare l’atmosfera freak del festival avremo il liquid light show in stile sixties di Ophelya Heartache, il dj set curato dalla radio per eccellenza della Valtidone Radio51 Melody e food and drink gestito dalla proloco di Sarmato che con l’associazione Rock in Loco si è occupata dell’aspetto organizzativo dell’evento. E per chi vorrà portarsi a casa un pezzo di storia Other Eyes, lo shop degli album degli artisti con il merchandising e le nuove t-shirts (proclameremo inoltre il nome del vincitore del contest WEAR IT WEIRD).
If their name conjures images of a lazy warm summer day, you’ll know they hit it spot-on with just one listen. Their music is inspired by soft folk pop sounds of the ’60s and the ‘70s and they invigorate that sound for the modern era in all that they do. Warm Morning Brothers’ music is a shelter from the chaos of a noisy world. They come from Piacenza (Italy) and they are the result of their genuine passion for music for more than ten years, during which they recorded six full length. It’s good to feel a typical italian musical taste in their music string arrangements, recalling artists like Mina and Gino Paoli.
Each song of the duo is a small element that helps to create a particularly pleasant and efficient musical puzzle. And it’s nice to feel a kind of joyful nostalgia that these sounds create: just close your eyes to get carried away in a very distant past, speckled by the vivid colors of innocence and carefreeness.
During these years they played lots of gigs in Italy and Europe, attending several times at International Pop Overthrow Festival at the most famous club in the world, the Cavern Club in Liverpool.
