A native of Oklahoma, spending time in Eufaula, Mannford, and Tulsa, Jake Banfield started his musical career at the age of 19 after a knee injury sidelined him while playing College Basketball. Banfield ended up buying a guitar from a local pawn shop and began teaching himself how to play and write music along with it.
Growing up singing in church, Jake was no stranger to song. Raised on 80’s Hair Bands, 90’s & 2000’s Hip-Hop and R&B, Old School Rap, and Country music, his inspiration from a variety of genres influenced him to begin writing music and performing live on social media, in the quiet of his dorm room while recovering from his injury. Eventually, a fan base of over 1M+ followers amassed on TikTok and Instagram, and doors started to open for the point guard from a one-stoplight Oklahoma lake town.
Shortly after, Banfield went out to Nashville to songwrite & record and work on his unique sound with some of the top songwriters & producers in Nashville.
Banfield is currently based in Nashville.
