Who: COOLDAD

Rock Indie

Bringing stadium shows to the local pub scene is COOLDAD! Known for being one of Melbourne’s most adored bands, cutting through with their alt-rock indie-pop bops, as well as colourful, charismatic and unforgettable live performances. This band is paving their own path in history.

Driven by the creative, exotic (and overall zany) mind that is frontman Will Anderson, COOLDAD is a band that makes the weird-kids feel normal. Tightly being held together by backbones of the band Carly Jorja and Kade Baker, with stomping rock beats, and leading bass lines to perfectly assist Anderson’s unconventional writing style.

So far as a band, the iconic members of COOLDAD have made many dreams a reality. Releasing their debut EP ‘Spaceman’ in late 2023, that led them on a regional tour across Victoria. Appearing at Queenscliff Music Festival (2023), Always Live Garage Band (2023) and Nightjar at The Big Thrift Market (2025). Supporting acts such as Beans and almost Wheatus (if only it worked out). To taking home the Music Video of the Year Award at the highly prestigious Melbourne District Music Awards in late 2024.

Their latest singles released in 2024 come in the lead up to the release of their debut album, ‘1971’, out in early 2025. Featuring iconic songs from their live shows such as ‘Great Dane’ and ‘Somewhere in the Middle’, the record serves as a soon to be a complete critical success with only 10/10’s!
