Tenor saxophonist Anton Delecca’s music is soulful and passionate, drawing from a diverse range of influences including folk, gospel, spiritual jazz, 70s acid fusion and music from the current NYC jazz scene.

Joining Anton tonight will be rising star alto saxophonist Bernard Alexander. The rhythm section features three of his long term collaborators, all leading jazz musicians in their own right, Darrin Archer – piano, Danny Fischer – drums and Tom Lee – bass.

Delecca was based in New York from 2017-19 where he recorded his new album ‘The Offering’. The album features international rising star and Blue Note recording artist, alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins and is released on Earshift Music. The repertoire will consist of music from the new album along with new compositions and arrangements by Delecca.

Anton Delecca is an award winning tenor saxophonist, composer and educator from Melbourne, Australia. In December 2019 he returned from two and a half years living in New York completing a Masters in Jazz Studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music, the program created by master saxophonist Jimmy Heath.

He was performing, writing and arranging consistently there and recorded a soon to be released album featuring the stellar NY rhythm section of Caili O’Dohery - piano, Matt Clohesy - bass, Cory Cox - drums and alto saxophone prodigy Immanuel Wilkins on three tracks.

He played for many years with internationally renowned band The Bamboos and has performed and/or recorded with artists such as American jazz legends Arthur Blythe, Odean Pope, Wycliffe Gordon and recently funk legend Maceo Parker.

He has four albums out on Australia’s leading jazz label, Jazzhead and he is featured on many other Australian jazz recordings.
