Deerface is the musical project of Sophie James, an Australian-born UK-based multimedia artist who is inspired by her passion for the rugged, unforgiving and ancient natural landscapes of her homeland and the Peak District where she is currently based, her interest in industrial and brutalist architecture, and the contrast between the two. The result is a cinematic combination of sweeping organic soundscapes and acoustic instruments layered over mechanical, harsh bass and drums, intertwining with otherworldly, ethereal vocals.
