Nashville-based Americana artist DAVID NEWBOULD is planning his continental return for August/September 2025, bringing his full 4-piece band along with him.

Newbould isn’t used to sitting still. Born in Toronto, he relocated to New York City as a teenager and logged time in Austin’s fertile music scene before ultimately settling in Nashville. There, he found a community that was every bit as diverse as his own history. Albums like 2013’s Tennessee shone a light on his cross-continental travels and inner journey, too, while 2019’s Sin & Redemption found him fronting an A-list studio band whose members included drummer BRAD PEMBERTON (STEVE EARLE, RYAN ADAMS) and rock legend DAN BAIRD (GEORGIA SATELLITES). With Power Up!, Newbould veers from the talking blues of ”Home Depot Glasses” (a tribute to the late, great JOHN PRINE) to the guttural, riff-ready rock of the album’s title track, to ”Peeler Park” — a rollicking Steve Earle meets-NICK CAVE’s Grinderman groove, David Newbould is a lifer. Since kickstarting his career with 2007’s Big Red Sun, he’s made his mark as a Heartland Roots-rocker, Americana artist and amplified Folksinger, writing songs that chart the ups and downs of an adulthood often spent onstage and on the road. He turned a new page with his fourth full-length studio album, Power Up!, a record whose messages of persistence and unshakeable survival are driven forward by the grease, grit, and guitar-driven swagger of rock & roll.

With a catalog of critically-acclaimed releases, thousands of live performances, and placements in programs like Criminal Minds and Dawson’s Creek, David Newbould has carved his own spot in the roots-rock world. 2025 promises a new layer in the unique sound and carefully-constructed craft that have piloted Newbould’s career for more than a dozen years.

The music of singer-songwriter Tess Liautaud is hard to pin down to a single genre. With her warm, soulful voice, she delivers emotionally charged songs, drawing on country and folk influences that echo the laid-back, melodic Laurel Canyon sound. It’s no surprise she found her place among folk and rock musicians in Ōtautahi (Christchurch, New Zealand). With her second album “Blue Mind,” Tess firmly established herself in the contemporary Americana and folk scene. The album reached number six on the New Zealand charts and took her to sold-out venues across her adopted homeland. Anyone who’s seen her live instantly understands the secret behind her success.

Who: Tess Liautaud

Indie Rock

The music of Franco-American singer-songwriter Tess Liautaud can not be easily defined. It hangs in the balance of her voice, warm like honey; it carries a depth of raw emotion, delivered with melodic grace and country soul. Her songs are easy listening, in that Jackson Browne , dreaming of Laurel Canyon, Americana sort of way, so it would make some kind of sense that she’s found a home on the east side of Ōtautahi, among the folk singers and the rock’n’rollers.

Together with her band (Adam Hattaway, Frankie Daly, Elmore Jones and Michael Kime, Jessie Shanks) Tess creates a sound steeped in classic guitar twang, good old honky tonk piano and big organ washes. This is music that will grow roots in your heart and lift you up, the way it is supposed to.

Tess cut her teeth in the Paris music scene for the better part of a decade, honing her live performances and charming the hearts of audiences and fellow musicians alike. She has toured in Ireland and places beyond and eventually curiosity led her to NewZealand in 2019. Burgeoning friendships and collaborations swayed her to stay, now two albums and five years deep she has become an endeared part of our musical landscape. As well as leading her own band,Tess sings and plays with Adam Hattaway and the Haunters , The Eastern and The Sweet Sweet Nothings.

Tess’ sophomore album ‘Blue Mind’ is finally out, just released in October 2024! in the pipeline. These recordings mark an expansion in her songwriting and a move toward a bigger band sound. In the first week it charted to number 6 in the Official New Zealand Charts, and number 4 in the Independent Music charts.
