The band revisit the music of the legendary West Coast jazz and jazz/funk pioneers bringing together some of UK’s finest players to mirror the classic line-up of sax and trombone, piano, guitar, electric bass and drums. The ensemble combine musicianship, skilful soloing and the members’ love of the Crusaders’ music. Articulating the the recognisable piano groove and technique of the great Joe Sample is Carl Hudson/Lorenzo Campese, Pete Beachill on trombone alongside Jim Hunt on saxophone create a tandem horn sound. On guitar Tim Cansfield and bass player ‘Level’ Neville Malcolm plus drummer Geoff Dunn complete the rhythm section.
