His Kokoro EP series draws on the Japanese philosophy of heart, soul, and mind, and has become a signature part of his catalogue. Alongside collaborations with artists such as James Mollison (Ezra Collective), he’s been featured on Jazz FM, Soho Radio, Times Radio, and BBC Radio. David’s live presence continues to grow, recently performing at Brick Lane Jazz Festival (2024) and headlining the Wycombe Jazz Festival (2025). A sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room led to his 2023 live EP Live at Late Night Jazz, and his next project, The David Kofi Experience: Live at the Royal Albert Hall, is set for release in autumn 2025. Meet David Kofi, a London-based keyboardist who effortlessly blends his gospel roots with contemporary jazz mastery. David’s musical journey began within the vibrant world of gospel music, nurtured by his church community. His passion and unwavering dedication led to the creation of his debut 5-track EP, “Galaxy, " which catapulted him into the limelight and earned him a nomination for Best Unsigned Jazz/Blues Act. David’s musical journey is defined by the release of several impactful EPs, including ‘Kokoro’ and ‘Kokoro II, ’ both inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘heart, soul, and mind. ’ These releases feature collaborations, including one with James Mollison, a member of the Mercury Award-winning group Ezra Collective. A defining moment in David’s career came when he graced the sold-out stage of The Elgar Room at Royal Albert Hall. This remarkable achievement led to the release of “Live at Late Night Jazz Royal Albert Hall. " His music has resonated far and wide, finding a home on radio stations such as Times Radio, Soho Radio, and Jazz FM. David Kofi’s musical influence has not gone unnoticed, earning him a feature in the Musicians’ Union magazine’s summer edition. His genre-blurring sound offers a unique fusion where gospel seamlessly meets jazz.
