Triptic & Alice Zawadzki King’s Cross Summer Sounds Three members of Scotland’s brilliantly unclassifiable world/folk band Moishe’s Bagel come together in a new project. Dramatic tango meets joyful klezmer and folk-infused originals, wrapped up in irresistible jazz and Latin grooves. Violin, piano, bass, mandolin, accordion, guitar…It’s virtuoso musicianship with a whole lot of soul. This new incarnation gives the group’s three driving forces a chance to explore diverse and uncharted musical pathways, bringing their unique energy and passion to a whole new set of original compositions, as well as setting their sights on music from Armenia to Sao Paolo – with many richly melodic stops along the way.
Featuring the firebrand fiddle and mandolin playing Greg Lawson, deep bass groover Mario Caribe, and world music magpie Phil Alexander on piano and accordion. For this show, Triptic will be joined by sensational vocalist & Jazz FM Vocalist of the Year 2025, Alice Zawadzki.
Loosely connected to the jazz world but realistically inhabiting her own realm, the critically-acclaimed vocalist, violinist, pianist and composer presents music from her latest release, Within You Is A World Of Spring. Diffracting through a greenwood canopy, Zawadzki’s poetic words and music illuminate her unique artistry and the concept behind her latest work. She leads an inspiring band of celebrated musicians in realising her extraordinary, often moving, occasionally droll, original songs: Fred Thomas (piano, drums, percussion, banjo, organ), Rob Luft (guitar), and Misha Mullov-Abbado (double bass).
