I write songs that breathe Americana groove, grit and taste, with characters that come to life in ways reminiscent of Prine, Earle and the McMurtrys — James AND Larry.
My songs carry the human details you might expect from a Pulitzer Prize winner, which I am. My new EP, “Llano Estacado,” tells tales of desperate times and people — and redemption. It’s earned airplay and good reviews, including from AmericanaUK, which called it “very cinematic” and “well worth a listen.” My album, “There Are No Secrets in This Town,” “plays out like a musical version of a McMurtry novel,” wrote Terry Paul Roland, featured contributor to No Depression. My previous record, “The Traveler’s Burden,” is “like Townes Van Zandt doing Nebraska," declared MinnPost.com.
I’m originally from the rural East Central Illinois, lived in Texas annd Minnesota, Kuwait annd Cyprus, and now live and perform in Manchester.
