The 0161 Manchester Underground Metal Community Promotions are delighted to announce our first January The Bank Top Tavern event of 2026. We will once again be bringing you the best of the underground from across the globe. We love working here and we have some big acts booked.
Kicking off the night we have Manchester thrash/death metal youngsters Death Strip. These guys have had one hell of a year. They kicked off their debut with us at the Holy Diver in Stockport and have gone on to have a great rest of 2025. Manchester is nurturing some amazing young thrash acts and these guys are one to keep your eye on for 2026 and beyond.
Up next we have Yorkshire based black metallers Aubzagl. Their sound is closely related to more traditional & second wave black metal influences with atmospheric, melodic, and even ambient elements.
We’re delighted to announce that we have Cambridgeshire blackened death mettalers Baelfýr coming back to Oldham to headline this amazing night. Their music aims to be raw and nasty. Rooted in old school black/death metal but with a focus on heavy, memorable riffs rather than modern metal tropes like over-the top solos or ultra‑fast 300 bpm double‑kick drumming. We are excited to have the guys back. This is gonna be one heavy, filthy night.

UK Blackened Death Metal We are Baelfyr, a blackened death metal band from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, UK.
Formed in 2023 we have taken the time to craft our style and have developed our sound that delivers a dark heavy punch with intense atmosphere and lyrics that will resonate on a personal level with our audience.
Our Live show brings an intense and dark energy. To captivate all those witnessing Baelfyr’s sonic assault.
In mid 2024 we took to the studio to record our first two tracks “Disciples” and “Time, the Great Betrayer” with Initiate Audio and Media. This first release has been met with a swell of positivity which has filled us with a newfound drive to continue releasing our own brand of powerful blackened death metal.
We received the honour of having “Disciples” included at number 30 on Moshville Radios top 40 tracks of 2024.
We have had a strong start to 2025, entering the studio to record our follow up to Disciples, an EP entitled Empowered by Hatred, due to release in August and playing multiple shows across the country including, winning Metal 2 the Masses in the Leicester region, earning the opportunity to play on the New Blood Stage at the prestigious Bloodstock Festival.
