Committeemen are hard to categorize. Pulling apart myriad influences at the seams and weaving something new from the scraps, they veer into territory occupied by bands like IDLES and THEE OSEES while keeping one foot planted in the early post-punk of Gang of Four and the other kicking tires with Parquet Courts. Committeemen write about what they know: getting pissed off about the Texas Power Grid, grappling with jealousy, or just maligning their friends’ shitty advice over a backdrop of thunderous bass, thumping drums, and a dense whirl of effected guitars.
The band leaves it all on stage every time out. DJ Gilmore-Innis (vocals/guitar), Ken Dannelley (drums), Matt Kast (bass), and Graham Bell (guitar) produce bombastic, sweaty, heart-on-their-sleeves performances that churn the humid Houston night air into a froth.
Committeemen have shared the stage with iconic punkers The Dwarves, Texas legends 30 Foot Fall and Bickley, and are building a steady following around their energetic live performances. The follow-up EP to the much-lauded 2023 ‘EXTENDED PLAY’ releases in Summer 2025.
