Quatuor Modigliani and clarinettist Pablo Barragán have a lot in common: they are among the most sought-after artists in their field, they share a passion for musical discovery – but above all, the musicians perform with an utterly infectious enthusiasm that no one can resist. This makes them the ideal performers for Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet: the composer himself was so taken by the playing of one particular clarinettist that he abandoned his self-imposed retirement and composed the quintet as one of his last great works.
