About THE ROOP
The Roop – consisting of Vaidotas Valiukevičius (vocals), Mantas Banišauskas (guitar), and Robertas Baranauskas (drums) – have defined themselves as “a different kind of mainstream.” Since forming in Vilnius in 2014, they have developed a sound that blends luxurious synth-pop with deep emotion, always paired with an elegant and soulful visual identity.
Breakthrough and Eurovision
Their major international breakthrough came with the song “On Fire” in 2020, a Eurovision favorite that went viral and became an emotional anthem for many. After the Eurovision final in 2021—where their hit “Discoteque” placed 8th—their audience expanded far beyond Lithuania’s borders.
New Era – New Album
In 2025, The Roop released the album Momentum, a project where they take their signature sound to new heights. Singles like “Steal Me” showcase the band’s ability to combine slick synth-pop with romantic tension, while “Chica Chico” offers a sunny, Mediterranean-inspired party vibe. They also present a more melancholic and reflective expression in “Just Think About It”, a song exploring the human struggle to remain authentic in a digital world.
