After spending his late teens moving between sofas, he spent a year living in a homeless shelter in Edinburgh in his early twenties, a period that deeply shaped his worldview and writing. Years later, he returned to that world from the other side, working as a support worker for homeless men, an experience that continues to inform the empathy and emotional clarity in his music.
