Aino Elina

Ethereal indie electro pop to bounce and float along to. This Edinburgh (UK) based singer-songwriter Aino Elina [i know Elina] is originally from Lapland, Finland. Intriguingly, Aino Elina sings in both her native Finnish and in English, combining enticing melodies with ethereal harmonies, electronic beats and luminous vocals with Finnish trad influences.

She has just released her debut (double) LP Kite/Thinning Ice. The songs from the album have gained plays on Spotify editorial playlists and national radio both in Finland and Scotland.

Aino Elina has performed locally around Edinburgh since the release of her debut EP, Unissa, in 2018. She’s also taken part in international showcases and played at festivals including Kansai Music Conference (Japan), IMX (China), Eden (UK), Look into it (UK), Art Goes Kapakka (FI) and Because You are a girl (UK).

“Very ethereal, haunting almost, and the artist’s vocals are beautiful. – I really connected with them (songs).”

BBC Introducing Scotland, May 2025.

“Aino Elina’s vocals come in both English and Finnish, and with a backing of heady, hazy beats, it’s the perfect sound for her untethered explorations of the natural world and liminal states of mind.”

The Skinny Magazine, April New Music Roundup, April 2025.

Who: Aino Elina

Electro Pop

Aino Elina creates ethereal indie electro pop to bounce and float along to. Based in Edinburgh, the Finnish-born singer-songwriter blends luminous synth pop with ethno/world music influences from her native Lapland. Singing in both Finnish and English, she crafts a magnetic fusion of Nordic culture with a Scottish twist.

Her live sets combine ethereal vocals, electronic beats, and stripped-back electro-pop arrangements — combining traditional song-writing with improvisation and looping.

Aino Elina’s discography includes her debut EP Unissa (2018) and the 2025 LP Kite / Thinning Ice, which received praise on BBC Radio Scotland, where she featured on the Introducing show, the Upload show and also on the Afternoon Show - highlighted as a Single of the Week. Her tracks have landed on Spotify editorial playlists, earned national airplay in Finland and Scotland, and continue to be supported by Amazing Radio and indie music blogs.

Since her debut, she’s played stages across Edinburgh and beyond, appearing at international showcases and festivals such as Kansai Music Conference (Japan), IMX (China), Kelburn Garden Party (UK), Eden Festival (UK), Art Goes Kapakka (FI), and more.
