Who: An Chéad Ghlúin Eile
Irish
An Chéad Ghlúin Eile (Irish for ‘The Next Generation’) are singing sisters and native Irish speakers hailing from the Ráth Chairn Gaeltacht in Meath. Proud of their Conamara roots, Étáin and Máire Ní Churraoin perform Irish songs from the various Gaeltacht regions together in harmony. The Sean-nós singers won TG4’s family talent contest ‘Réalta agus Gaolta’ in 2019. They take after their granduncle Darach Ó Catháin, a well-renowned Sean-Nós singer. ACGE released their physical and streamable debut album ‘Cá’il an Bheirt?’ in 2024. Étáin and Máire are also members of the interGaeltacht collective and RTÉ Folk Award-winning band ‘Bláth na hÓige’ and ‘Aibhse’.
