New Avenues formed in 2019 when Chris Rodo and Connor Caldwell began making demos, and collaborating to create a sound that became a project where many other friends got involved. Connor Bankey from Avon Park co-wrote the first New Avenues single - Sunshine - recorded by Nathan Clark. The first EP - Valley - released in January of 2020. New Avenues released more singles in the shutdown Summer 2020 - recorded by Charles Tobias from Gratzi - while continuing to write more demos and add more pieces to the collective. Carter Lacy of Bad Dad Jokes, and Dom Kozacek from Bug Button helped with vocals and lyrics to songs on the second EP - Thinking - 6 songs released in March 2021 - produced by Nathan Clark.
Driving Far Away - was released in April 2022, recorded by Charles Tobias. All 4 songs feature Connor Bankey on vocals. The collective added more members and “depth” in 2022 when Sam Farr from Have Near began to produce and write for the first full length album - Flourish - released in March 2023. Caroline Ross from Wynne is featured on background vocals on Reticent, Not Much, Never Go Away, and Come Clean
