An Avondale-inspired independent art and music festival thought up during late night, after work drinks between two long time friends and Avondale business owners on the opposite ends of the neighborhood
Dmen Tap and Live Wire owners Shawn Podgurski and Dave Hornyak have known each other and been friends for 25 years since the old Wicker Park days. Both are musicians involved in the local Chicago music scene all their lives and wanted to throw a party celebrating local Avondale artists, musicians and Avondale small businesses. The party, held February 26th-March 1st will start with an art show at Dmen on Thursday 2/26 then two nights of music at Live Wire on 2/37 and 2/28, and then a market featuring local Avondale vendors on Sunday March 1st.

Sybris is an experimental indie rock band from Chicago. It consists of Angela Mullenhour on lead vocals and guitar, Eric Mahle on drums, Phil Naumann on guitar, and Shawn Podgurski on bass and vocals.
The band first starting practicing in the spring of 2003, and played their first show on September 1st of the same year. After the unofficial release of “A Time For Hollerin’”, Sybris’ homemade tour EP, and the band’s first east coast tour in the spring of 2004, they released their self titled debut album on Chicago based Flameshovel records August 7th, 2005.
Since then the band has toured extensively in the US and Canada, as well as playing festivals such as Lollapalooza and South by Southwest. Sybris is currently finishing up their sophomore album, and plan to release it late summer of this year.
