The legacy of The Free Show, dating back to the early days of Improv Olympic, has helped make long-form improv accessible to audiences of all backgrounds. That tradition continues with Dumb John and Birdlady.
Regarded as one of Chicago’s funniest and most promising improv groups of the last decade, Dumb John joins Birdlady for a new weekly long-form double feature. Both teams bring a high-energy strain of improvisation to a bizarre cultural harvest of small-town Americana influence and ephemera, using a single audience suggestion to launch an unhinged long-form ride: diesel-soaked characters, fever-dream karaoke scenes, neon aisles of roadside antique marts, and whatever depravity and brilliance show up in the moment.
Take flight with two back-to-back original iO ensembles, Birdlady and Dumb John, every Wednesday night.
This is a FREE show, but reserving a ticket is highly recommended to guarantee entry.
